RETIREMENT

This poem was read at Moe's Retirement dinner.

Well Retirement is upon us the years have gone by so fast
Whatever is in the future can’t undo the wonderful past
You have always been very committed to your life’s work and so
It is time to turn the reins over now as off in Noble we go

We will think of good ole New Brunswick when it dips to 30 below
And off to work the staff goes shivering wondering where the heck is Moe
Then they will say it is rumored that in Hawaii they were last seen
But then again it was hard to tell with all that darn sunscreen

But did you hear that Moe’s bald head is covered now  against the sun
I see that he is wearing a new wig, the sexy son of a gun
Next thing you know he will be weight training and tanning
And wearing Spandex and leggings with his muscles expanding

Did he ever tell you about the time he had his toenails painted red
He awoke from a nap in the trailer and almost dropped dead
He shook his head in wonder as at his toes he peered
Blinked his eyes and shook his head and  looked at wifey dear

Then there was the  time he parked his new  Cougar
Then inside to party we went , but upon returning to her
We were shocked and amazed at the event
Two trees had taken position one in front and one  behind
With an inch between the trees and bumpers departing was going to take time

Just recently he doctored a pimple that was beside his nose
He announced to me so smartly that he had an ointment chose
I said oh what was it?  Proctecydyl said he
Oh said I that should work, it is for hemorrhoids you see

Well since I have to spend retirement with this dear old man
I think I should get off my soapbox I still have pictures to scan
We will have fun in our senior years and to each of you we say
May Blessings , Peace and Happiness be part of all your days
